Blonde hair can turn green green when exposed to chlorine and most blondes return from holiday even blonder than before…however what most customers do not know is that blonde hair extensions can turn pink/orange and brassy. While thousands of customers will go away on holiday with no problems at all there may be the odd unlucky one that may have a problem with their blonde hair extensions changing colour.
Blonde hair extensions are like a sponge especially newly purchased hair, this is due to the chemical process of lightening the human hair to obtain the light blonde colour. You must avoid touching your hair extensions with sun cream/oil hands or allowing the tips of your extensions to touch your shoulders or back where you have any creams or oils as this can discolour them.
Your hair extensions need to be protected from sea water, chlorine, sweat, sun cream and UV rays to avoid sun damage and discolouration. If you notice that your hair is showing signs of discolouration, you will need to use a purple/blue toned shampoo to rid of the orange colour, this is available to purchase in our haircare range
